PHP Commercial Painting today began internal employee testing of its Android Employee App, bringing many everyday PaintWorks functions into a dedicated mobile application.
The August 4, 2026 launch introduces an important capability for employees working without reliable internet access: job photos and clock-in and clock-out entries can be saved on the phone and synchronized with PaintWorks when a connection returns.
Keeping Work Moving Without a Connection
Offline access is a central reason for developing the app. Employees may need to document a job or record their work time in an area where cellular service or internet access is unavailable.
The Android app lets them save photos for upload to a job and record clock-in and clock-out entries while offline. Those updates remain on the phone until service is available, when the app sends them to PaintWorks.
This gives employees a way to record those activities when they happen instead of waiting for an internet connection before entering the information.
Everyday PaintWorks Tools in One App
The initial employee-testing version includes job photo uploads, clocking in and out, viewing job addresses, completing training modules and reading company notifications.
It also provides alarm-system controls, allowing authorized employees to arm and disarm the system through the app.
These functions bring several of the tasks employees already handle in PaintWorks into PHP’s own mobile application. The offline photo and time-entry capability adds a way to continue those specific tasks when connectivity is interrupted.
Internal Testing Begins Today
Developed by Chief Technology Officer Joshua Herbison, the app is entering internal testing with PHP employees today. This stage puts the Android version into employees’ hands for use with their everyday work.
The focus is practical: giving employees access to the PaintWorks functions they need on their phones, including a way to capture job photos and time entries when they do not have an internet connection.
