PHP Launches Shared Success Program With Monthly Performance-Based Bonuses

PHP Commercial Painting today launched its Shared Success Program, or SSP, introducing monthly performance-based bonuses for eligible employees. The May 6, 2026 launch includes separate bonus programs for estimating staff and field project managers and supervisors, with each group’s results affecting its shared bonus pool.

The program connects additional compensation to practical business priorities: safe driving, managing job hours, completing required reports and meeting estimating responsibilities.

A Program That Started With Vehicle Safety

The idea began with company vehicles. PHP was already using GPS tracking to monitor driving, but speeding remained a challenge. The company wanted a stronger connection between following its vehicle-safety rules and the incentives available to employees.

SSP introduces a shared financial incentive. A qualifying speeding event reduces the field group’s potential bonus pool, making vehicle safety a factor in the group’s monthly result.

How the Monthly Bonus Pools Work

Each program starts with $500 per participating employee each month. Performance-related deductions reduce the relevant group’s shared pool, and the remaining balance is divided equally among that group’s participants at the end of the month.

A deduction applies to the pool once, not separately to every employee. For example, a $10 deduction from a five-person pool reduces each participant’s eventual bonus by $2.

This structure gives participants a shared interest in the performance measures that determine their group’s payout.

Separate Rules for Field and Estimating Teams

The field SSP includes project managers and supervisors. Its deductions address speeding events, jobs exceeding their estimated labor hours and required closeout reports not being completed.

These measures connect the field bonus to vehicle safety, job-hour management and the reporting needed to keep project information current.

The estimating bonus program uses separate rules suited to estimating work. Participants must complete leads by their due dates and meet established contract-award goals. The estimating group has its own performance requirements rather than the field SSP’s deduction rules.

Shared Results, Shared Rewards

With today’s launch, PHP is putting a defined monthly bonus structure behind the responsibilities that help the company operate effectively. Each participating group begins with a clear potential pool and shares in the amount remaining after its performance requirements are applied.

The goal is to make safe driving, timely work and follow-through part of a shared effort, with additional compensation tied to the results.
