PHP Commercial Painting today launched PaintWorks University, its branded employee-training platform inside the PaintWorks system. The April 28, 2026 launch brings approximately 52 weekly Safety Toolbox modules and additional PaintWorks Takeoff training into one place, with completion dates and quiz results recorded for management.
Developed by Chief Technology Officer Joshua Herbison, the platform addresses a practical challenge: making PHP’s required weekly safety training easier to assign, complete and track.
A Consistent Weekly Safety Program
Managing weekly Safety Toolbox training had become difficult. PHP needed a clearer way to know whether employees had completed their assigned lessons and which assignments still needed attention.
PaintWorks University opens with approximately 52 Safety Toolbox modules, providing enough material for one assignment each week over a year. The lessons combine videos, written material and quizzes. Most take about 10 minutes or less to complete.
Employees complete the training inside PaintWorks while on the clock, with two eight-hour shifts available to finish an assignment. Required training is connected to clock-in eligibility: if an employee misses the completion deadline, PaintWorks blocks the next clock-in until the overdue training is completed.
Completion Records in the Same System
PaintWorks University records each employee’s completion dates and quiz results. Management can see who has finished, who is current on required training and who has overdue assignments.
Bringing the lessons and their completion records together gives PHP a more direct way to manage its weekly safety program. Employees have a defined place to complete their assignments, and managers have a shared record to review when following up.
Training for PaintWorks Takeoff
The launch library also includes training on PaintWorks Takeoff, in addition to the approximately 52 Safety Toolbox modules. PHP introduced its custom takeoff and estimating system on March 19, connecting PDF plan markups and estimating details to job records in PaintWorks.
The additional lessons give employees a place to learn how to use that system alongside their required safety training.
With today’s launch, PHP is making employee training part of the same platform it uses to coordinate daily operations. PaintWorks University provides a weekly training structure, a growing place for system-specific instruction and a clear record of employee completion from day one.
