PHOENIX, September 15, 2026 — PHP Commercial Painting today announced that Tommy Miller and Adam Whitney will join its leadership team on October 5, bringing a combined 52 years of experience with two of the painting industry’s major manufacturers.
Miller, who has spent 29 years with Dunn-Edwards, will become Director of Business Development. Whitney, who brings 23 years with Sherwin-Williams, will become Chief Operations Officer. Their appointments strengthen PHP’s business development and operations leadership as the company continues investing in its people, technology and capacity for growth.

Tommy Miller: A Career Built on Contractor Relationships

Miller’s career at Dunn-Edwards has included work in paint handling, tinting, counter sales, delivery and management. That experience has given him a broad understanding of the products, service and support contractors need to complete their work.
“If the contractor is successful, I’m successful,” Miller said, describing the partnership mindset he will bring to PHP.
Having worked with PHP for approximately 15 years, Miller has watched the company’s development firsthand. He cited its growth and investment in technology as important reasons for making the move.
As Director of Business Development, Miller will focus on building relationships and developing opportunities for PHP, bringing his product knowledge and understanding of contractors’ needs to the company’s next stage of growth.
Adam Whitney: Bringing Manufacturer Experience Into Operations

Whitney brings experience in coatings, specifications, customer support and problem-solving from his 23 years with Sherwin-Williams. His new position represents a shift from supporting painting contractors as a manufacturer representative to helping lead a contractor’s daily operations.
“It’s not always about the problem, it’s about the solution,” Whitney said.
Whitney emphasized clear communication, realistic timelines and coordination between estimating and field teams. He plans to apply his manufacturer-side knowledge directly to project execution, supporting employees and helping keep work on track.
As Chief Operations Officer, Whitney will help strengthen the connection between project planning and work in the field, with a focus on building effective teams and addressing issues promptly.
Experienced Leadership Meets In-House Technology
The appointments come as PHP pairs its growth in leadership with technology developed around its own operations. Under owner John Morris, the company has invested in tools that connect employees, project information and customer communication.
Chief Technology Officer Joshua Herbison has developed PaintWorks in-house, bringing estimating, scheduling, job records, project photos, change orders and employee communication into one system. PaintWorks University supports employee training, while PHP’s Android and iOS apps put everyday job tools in employees’ hands.
The company’s General Contractor Dashboard extends that visibility to its project partners, allowing them to review scheduled crews, project contacts and other job information.
Miller and Whitney will join Morris and Herbison in advancing that work, adding decades of industry relationships and practical experience to PHP’s existing team.
Both will begin their new roles on October 5, 2026.
