PHP Launches PaintWorks Scheduling Version 2.0 With Team-Based Planning

PHP Commercial Painting today launched Version 2.0 of its customized PaintWorks scheduling system, replacing the original scheduler immediately with a new team-based workflow, stronger assignment controls and a redesigned daily view.

The March 5, 2026 release becomes PHP’s active scheduling platform today. It retains the employee and job information introduced in the first version while changing how the company builds crews and prevents ineligible assignments.

Scheduling Complete Teams

The original scheduling system focused primarily on assigning individual employees to jobs. Version 2.0 allows PHP to create teams consisting of a foreman or team leader and a regular group of employees who work well together.

Schedulers can assign an entire team to a project at one time instead of rebuilding the same crew one employee at a time. Individual assignments remain available when a job or staffing change requires them.

The team-based approach is designed to help PHP preserve effective working relationships, create schedules faster and maintain greater consistency from one project to the next.

Preventing Ineligible Assignments

Version 2.0 adds automatic restrictions that prevent employees from being scheduled when they do not meet a job or company requirement.

The previous version displayed whether employees met prevailing-wage requirements, but it still allowed a scheduler to make an ineligible assignment. The new system will not allow an employee to be assigned when that employee’s wage does not meet the prevailing-wage requirement for the selected project.

The system also prevents scheduling an employee who has approved time off, a pending disciplinary action or incomplete required training.

Fingerprint-clearance information is now part of the scheduling decision as well. When a project requires a fingerprint clearance card, PaintWorks can show whether an employee has the required card, confirm whether it is valid and notify the scheduler when it is approaching expiration.

These controls move important compliance information directly into the scheduling process rather than relying on the scheduler to remember every employee restriction.

Retaining the Information Schedulers Already Use

The new version retains the practical employee information available in the original PaintWorks scheduler.

Authorized schedulers can still consider where employees live, whether they have transportation or need a ride, whether they hold lift certifications, whether their wages meet project requirements and whether they have previously worked at a specific job.

Version 2.0 combines that information with team membership, time-off records, disciplinary status, training requirements and fingerprint-clearance information.

A New Daily Scheduling View

The release introduces an entirely new layout designed to be easier to use and easier to read.

Instead of requiring the scheduler to work from an entire month at once, the daily view focuses on one day. It provides an at-a-glance picture of that day’s jobs, assigned teams, individual employees, approved time off, staffing gaps and scheduling conflicts.

The focused layout gives scheduling employees more room to understand the day in front of them while still providing the information needed to make assignments.

Developed Inside PHP

PaintWorks Scheduling Version 2.0 was designed and programmed entirely by PHP Chief Technology Officer Joshua Herbison as part of the company’s continuing development of its own business-management technology.

Employees responsible for scheduling responded positively to the new layout and team-based workflow during the launch.

Version 2.0 replaces the original scheduler immediately and becomes PHP’s current scheduling platform today, giving the company a faster way to keep effective teams together while automatically enforcing important employee and project requirements.
