PHP Commercial Painting today selected RingCentral as its new company-wide communications platform, bringing business phone numbers, extensions, messaging and video conferencing into one system.
The October 15, 2025 change is designed to simplify how employees communicate while eliminating the need for separate work cell phones, desk phones and disconnected communication applications.
Replacing Several Separate Systems
Employees who had a company phone number previously carried two mobile phones: a personal phone and a second device connected to PHP’s T-Mobile service.
PHP initially eliminated those work phones by moving company calling to Dialpad. That arrangement lasted only a few months before the company determined that the platform was not meeting its needs.
Dialpad also did not provide the complete internal communication environment PHP wanted. The company continued using Slack for employee messaging, while office desk phones were maintained through another provider.
The result was another collection of separate systems employees had to install, learn and check throughout the day.
Company Numbers Without a Second Phone
RingCentral allows employees to use their direct PHP business numbers through an application on their personal phones or computers. Their personal phone numbers remain private, and they no longer need to carry a second mobile device for company calls.
Employees can use the same platform for calls, business text messages, voicemail, extensions and video meetings.
Employees who do not need an individual company phone number can receive a free RingCentral account for internal messaging and video conferencing. That gives PHP a way to include more of the company in the same communication system without assigning every employee a paid phone number.
More Control Over the Main PHP Number
Employees who require a direct number will continue to have one, while PHP’s main company number can be routed to the appropriate person more easily.
Authorized administrators can manage extensions, users, call routing and account settings directly. Calls can be transferred or redirected as responsibilities and schedules change without depending on several different service providers.
PHP expects the consolidated system to make onboarding easier, improve employee communication and give employees better access to calls and messages wherever they are working.
Implemented Internally by PHP
PHP Chief Technology Officer Joshua Herbison evaluated the available systems and managed the RingCentral implementation, including the transfer of company phone numbers, account configuration and call routing.
Herbison has years of experience working with SMS systems, 10DLC registration and telephone-number porting. That experience allowed PHP to manage the transition internally rather than depend on a vendor implementation team.
The overall cost of RingCentral is expected to be approximately the same as PHP’s previous combination of services, or potentially slightly higher. The company believes the additional capability and simpler administration justify the cost.
With today’s decision, PHP can replace multiple disconnected communication tools with one system that employees can access without carrying separate company phones.
