PHP Commercial Painting is welcoming Chasity Choate to the company today, July 1, 2025, as its new Data Analyst and Assistant to the Chief Technology Officer.
Choate joins PHP during an important stage in the company’s technology transition. PaintWorks, PHP’s custom-built customer relationship and business-management system, officially launched less than a week ago, and the company is still transferring information from its previous system.
Helping Estimators Focus on Estimating
One of the immediate reasons for creating the position is the increasing amount of data entry associated with new project opportunities.
An estimator has been responsible for entering new leads into the company’s system. As the volume of information has increased, that work has taken time away from reviewing plans, preparing takeoffs, calculating project costs and completing estimates.
PHP needs someone who can take responsibility for lead entry and data management so estimators can remain focused on estimating.
“One of our estimators was entering new leads, and it was taking that employee away from estimating,” Chief Technology Officer Joshua Herbison said. “The amount of data entry had become more than the estimating team could reasonably handle while still concentrating on bids.”
By moving that responsibility into Choate’s new position, PHP can create a more consistent lead-entry process while returning valuable time to the estimating department.
Completing the PaintWorks Data Migration
Choate’s responsibilities also include helping ensure that company information is transferred from PHP’s old management system into PaintWorks.
The migration involves employee information, general contractors, project records, timekeeping data, documents and approximately 24,000 job photographs. Moving the data is only one part of the process. PHP also needs to confirm that the information is complete, accurate and properly connected inside the new system.
Choate will help review migrated records, identify missing or inconsistent information and support the transition while PaintWorks and the former platform continue operating alongside each other.
Supporting Data, Development and Employees
As Data Analyst and Assistant to the CTO, Choate’s ongoing work will extend beyond the initial migration.
Her responsibilities will include checking company information for accuracy, preparing and reviewing reports, testing new PaintWorks features and helping determine whether the system works correctly for the employees who use it.
PaintWorks was developed internally by Herbison, but employees throughout PHP helped define how it needs to operate. Choate’s position creates another connection between development and everyday use. She will help test workflows, document problems and provide feedback as the system continues to evolve.
Choate will also assist employees with routine computer and technology issues. As new employees join PHP, she will help onboard them into PaintWorks and introduce them to the tools and processes they need for their positions.
That support is especially important as PHP moves away from its former platform. Employees need more than access to the new system. They need help learning where information is located, how updated workflows operate and who to contact when something does not work as expected.
A Role Created Around PHP’s Changing Needs
Choate’s position brings together responsibilities that have previously been distributed among estimators, technology staff and other employees.
Her work will support the accuracy of company data, the continued development of PaintWorks, the productivity of the estimating team and the ability of employees to use PHP’s technology effectively.
Her arrival today represents another step in PHP Commercial Painting’s effort to build both the technology and the internal support required for the company’s next stage of growth.
